Reflection

When I was thinking about what I would like to do my project on the idea of developing one on careers immediately came to mind. Career awareness is one of those extras that my district require we teach in addition to all the other subjects that must be covered in third grade. Sometimes trying to find the time to fit it all in is very difficult. As a result, my students were getting just the basics as far as career awareness was concerned. That is why I am excited about this project. Not only do I feel my students will get a better career awareness education, but they will also benefit from the skills they must use in order to complete this project. I also like that I can use writing class to actually organize and write the report and our computer room time to type it.

I have gained a new appreciation for computers and what students can accomplish when using them. I have learned a lot in developing this project. I never really understood how web pages were developed and linked together. I merely took them for granted. I now understand how it works and how much time and thought enters into the process. I am not sure who will gain the most from this project--me or my students!
