Bite Size Math
This website has activities that would allow students to practice a variety
of math skills. Each skill also has a section called a revision bite that
gives the students tips on how to do the skill if they are having trouble.
Once the student has practiced the skill there is a quiz to assess how well
the student has mastered the particular skill. This site has activities for
subjects other than math.
Punctuation Game
This is a game that allows the player to insert commas and apostrophes
correctly. It is very short and would take my students about five minutes to
complete. The player immediately knows if he made the correct choice. A good
practice exercise for these two punctuation marks.
Shape Poems
This is a great website to introduce students to writing poems. It explains
what a shape poem is and takes them through the process step by step.
Students are asked to select a theme and then are guided through the writing
process. Once the poem is complete they are given the option of
printing them out on the printer. It is a good lead into writing the poems
using pencil and paper.
Simple
Machines Activity Sheets
This website offers free
activity sheets on simple machines. There is a word search, word scramble,
crossword puzzle, etc. It also has a vocabulary worksheet along with the
definitions.
Interactive Simple Machines Activity
This is an interactive website
that takes a student on a tour of a house. The student chooses a room and
must find the simple machines that are there. Once a student clicks on the
simple machine he must answer a question about the machine. This interactive
activity also gives a tour of a house where the student must find the
compound machines.
Pilgrims Voyage to Freedom
This is a Social Studies for
Kids website. This particular section explains who the pilgrims were and why
they chose to come to the new world. Students read about life on the
Mayflower and about what the pilgrims encountered once they landed.
Interventions for
Struggling Readers
This website provides
interventions for the classroom teacher to use with struggling readers. Once
the problem has been identified a variety of interventions are given to use
with that student to help correct the problem.
How to Write
a Letter
This is a good website to use to
teach students how to write a personal as well as business letters. This
site identifies the parts of the letter and explains each one. Students are
able to type letters on the website and print them. This is a good
introduction to letter writing before using pencil and paper.

This website provides an online
tour of the human body. You are able to choose the body system you want to
study.
Simple
Machines Internet Field Trip
This website takes your students
on a tour of various websites that discuss simple machines and provides
interactive activities.
