Any child can be
successful in English 9 and English 10. Students simply need to stay
organized, be responsible, and pay attention. Many freshman find the
transition from middle school to high school very difficult. Obviously
the expectations are very different. If you, parents and guardians,
would like to help your child be successful, there are a few things you can
do to help.

Check the vocabulary
list on the website on a weekly basis
|
Check your child's
agenda on a daily basis. Even though I don't give much homework, there may
be times when an assignment is due the next day.
|
Check your child's three
ring binder to stay updated on recent assignments and notes.
|
Talk to your child about
what he or she is doing and learning in school.
|
Ask your child about
recent progress reports that have been sent home. I try to send these
home every couple of weeks.
|
Be sure to compliment
your child. Even if your child is not performing well, he or she needs
to know that you are proud of him or her. :)
