Course Description:
This course is
designed to present those forces that shaped the history and character of the
United States from 1890 to Present day. It is to be presented thematically, as well
as chronologically, with greater emphasis on cause and effect rather than facts.
The principle themes to be developed include: immigration, industrialization,
urbanization, reform-democracy and foreign policy.
