The highest patriotism is not a blind acceptance of official policy,
but a love of one's country deep enough to call her to a higher plain”

Chapter Two Project:  World Economies

Objective: You have just been hired in the international division of a multinational corporation
that makes consumer goods(which include kids toys and educational games) to become an expert
on other countries.  Your first assignment is to prepare a report on a country in Asia because your
company is considering building a branch plant to produce a consumer good in this country.
Your job is to convince your company of one of two choices:
	A. Expand to the county you researched
	B. Do not expand to the country you researched

As all skilled experts you know to research the facts, one should start with the
CIA Factbook which is filled with information on every country.

After following the link to the latest Factbook, you want to collect
the following information for your report:

1.  Where is the country located and what is its physical size?  Is it larger or smaller than the U.S.?
2. How many people live there?
3. Since your company's product is sold to children, how many children live
there and is there a large population of a certain age group?
4.  Compare its climate to the climate where you live.
Is it hotter?  Is it dryer?  What kind of crops are grown there?
Will the weather or vegetation hinder or improve chances for success?
5.  Is the government a democracy?  If not, what governmental type is utilized? Who is the current head of the government? Will their government allow growth and development?
6. What kind of an economy does it have:
      primarily market-based or centrally planned?
7. Is it a rich or poor country?  What is the GDP per capita?
Compare this to your own country.
8. What is the unemployment rate?  Is unemployment a problem in this country?
9. What are the major natural resources of the country?  What are the major
industries?  Is there a connection between its natural resources and the
 products it makes?
10. What is the country's money called?  How much of your own country's
money could you exchange for one of this country's unit of money?
11. If your company built a branch operation there, would it be satisfied
with the communications system?  Do most people in the country have
telephones, for example?
12.  Is this country's government friendly to foreign investors/companies?
