Chapter Three Activity

 

Objective:  Students will “find a job” and “buy a vehicle” to get to work.

 

Steps:

          1.  Student must write a 275 word essay including the following information:

                   a. job of interest

                   b. qualifications of the job

                   c. what actions are necessary to meet these qualifications

          2.  Students must submit a letter written to a potential employer requesting a job application.  After approval, student must send the letter.

          3.  Student must submit the completed application to the teacher.

 

          4.  Student must create a chart comparing 2 vehicles that could be used for transportation to and from “job”.  Chart must include the following:

                   a.  insurance cost

                   b.  gas mileage

                   c.  incentives

                   d.  cost of vehicle

                   e.  type of vehicle

                   f.  warranty

                   g. expected tire life

          5.  Student must give a 3-5 minute presentation explaining job qualifications and vehicle comparison.
