Elements
Explanation
In science, elements are the basic building blocks of all
things. Elements have parts to them, but they are the most
fundamental parts of matter. If you change an element that makes an object
you change the object.
Like science, music also has elements. These elements are
the things that make a piece of music sound, and ultimately feel, differently.
If you change an element, you end up changing the feeling of the music.
It is a little more difficult to determine differences in
feelings than physical objects, but the differences are there. For
instance, if you play well known tune such as "Mary Had A Little Lamb" and
change one of the elements such as rhythm, the song has different emotions.

Elements List
Rhythm- The amount of time a not is held.
This is determined by the type of note, meter signature, stressed and unstressed
beats, and tempo.
Pitch- The highness or lowness of a tone. Pitches
are written on a staff (a group of five lines) with a clef (musical landmark).
Even instruments that don't have a definite pitch have a highness and lowness of
sound.
Tone Color- The specific sound of a voice or
instrument. Tone color is the reason a person can recognize and identify
an instrument or a person's voice only by the sound.
Form- How a piece of music is put together. In many
pieces of music there are large chunks that are similar. These repeated
sections help to remind listeners of anything from a musical theme to the chorus
of a song.
