Rules

The rules apply during each ski season, from the start of the season until the final trip, including (Blue Knob Mountain Ski Trip) in February.

Transportation Policy: Any student who travels with the Indian Valley High School Ski Club must ride the bus.  If a student requests to ride home from Tussey Mountain Ski Resort (or any ski resort) with parent/guardian, they must have request with signature given to the ski club advisor (Mr. Howe or Mrs. Wilson) prior to leaving Indian Valley High School.  Parents/guardian may not transport students from another family.  The bus leaves Indian Valley High School at 3:30 PM and returns to Indian Valley High School at 10:30 PM.  You must be on the bus at Tussey at no later than 9:15 PM to travel back to Indian Valley High School.

  • First offense for not boarding the bus at 9:15 PM - warning and one week suspension from the club.
  • Second offense for not boarding the bus at 9:15 PM - removal from the Indian Valley High School Ski Club.

Attendance Policy:

  • No student who is absent from school may attend ski club that day.
  • Students must be signed in by 9:30 AM of the school day, to be eligible to participate.

Alcohol and Illegal Drugs:  Possession of alcohol or illegal drugs on school property, bus, or ski resort, or proven or admitted use of alcohol or illegal drugs during a school function, bus travel, or at the ski resorts, warrants immediate and permanent dismissal from the club.

Tobacco:  Possession of any tobacco product on school property, bus, or ski resort or proven or admitted use of tobacco will result in immediate and permanent dismissal from the club.

Any tobacco, alcohol, or Illegal Drug violation will be submitted to the School Administration for disciplinary action.

Health Insurance & Injury:  Mifflin County School District provides NO health insurance coverage for students activities.  The district is not responsible for any cost that should occur due to physical injury or damaged equipment.  There are trained health care providers present at Tussey Mountain.  First Aid and Triage of injury will be provided by the nearest hospital ( Centre Community Hospital).  Parents must be available to receive phone calls related to any medical emergency.
