The purpose of homework is to reinforce
what was taught in class that day and to give practice to the student to
facilitate learning.
Each assignment checked by the teacher
is worth 5 points.
Assignments done well (no blanks,
arbitrary answers or illegible) and on time will receive 6 points.
Assignments not well done or one day
late and shown to the teacher at the beginning of the next class
period will receive 5 points.
Two days late receives 3 points.
Three days late receives 1 point.
More than three days late results in a
0.
Students will NOT be reminded to show
late work to the teacher.
If you have an early dismissal, it is
your responsibility to show your homework to the teacher sometime during
the day it is due. Interruptions of other classes to ask a
question or show homework are encouraged.
If you are absent, you have the
equivalent time of days absent to make up the work for the 6 points.
Homework is important and students need to
do it without copying someone else's work. No learning takes
place when homework is simply copied and no time is given to thinking
about the assignment. That's why it's called "cheating," as you are
cheating yourself of learning.
