Very rarely is homework ever assigned in my Social Studies 9 & 10 Class. I prefer to have all assignments done in class so that I can provide the appropriate accommodations for learning for each of my students. When I can work one on one with my students, they learn more and they are more successful. On occasion, when work must be completed outside of class, the following outlines my grading policy for work done outside of class. 1. Short-term assignments are due the next class period. 2. Long-term assignments are due one week from the date the assignment was given. If work is not turned in by the assigned due date, my policy for last work is as follows. 1. One day passed the due date equals 5 points off the student's grade. 2. Two days passed the due date equals 10 points off the student's grade. 3. Three days passed the due date equals 20 points off the student's grade. 4. Four or more days passed the due date results in the student receiving a "0" for the assignment.
