1.    Write out the Mifflin County School District benchmark on which the assessment task will focus.

2.    Write the title of the assessment task which will engage students in demonstrating this benchmark. Describe the task.

The student will respond in sentence format to teacher-designed questions that range from the literal to the interpretive.

3.    What observable and measurable performance criteria will be used to judge what students know and/or can do?

The student’s ability to give correct and supportable responses to the questions will show what to comprehend.

4. Design a rubric or checklist to assess the task. Indicate the criteria needed for mastery. Attach to this sheet.

                                        Mastery will be shown by the number of questions answered correctly.
