The Pennsylvania Commission on
Crime and Delinquency provides Mifflin County with $150,000.00 over three
years to implement the Prevention Plan. An amount of $75,000.00 has been
secured from the community as required match funds. With those funds, a
part-time Community Mobilizer and part-time Youth Center Coordinator are
supported. Funds are also used for the prevention plan activities outlined
in the Prevention Plan. This includes Active Parenting and MOMS Parenting
With Love Curriculum support, purchase of “Second Step” anti-violence
curriculum, support of Project YES and community building and awareness
activities.
Although this is a good start to
reducing risk factors and problem behaviors, additional funding was
necessary to fill prevention gaps and to implement “Blueprint” programs.
During the first year of implementation $1,785,407.00 has been secured.
