Piedmont Region

This area covers most of the southeastern part of the state. It has plains and low hills. The soil and climate in the Piedmont Region are excellent for farming. In fact, this area is called the garden spot of the world. It has some of the richest farmland in the United States. Piedmont means land at the foot of the mountains.
