HOLE #1

Wanted:  Kissin' Kate Barlow

  1.  In this hole, you will be digging for information about Wanted Posters from the wild west. Using what you learn, you will be creating your own wanted poster for the outlaw Kissin' Kate Barlow. 

2.  Click on one of the posters below to see different ways you can create your poster and to find out the information that should be on it.

3.  Use plain white paper to make a rough copy of your poster using the information you find.

4.  Bring your rough copy to reading class where you will use white construction paper to complete your poster.

HOLE #2

IF I WAS A DESERT CRITTER. . .                           

1. The story Holes takes place in the dry, desert lands of Texas. Roaming these lands are scorpions, rattlesnakes, lizards, and tarantulas. 

2. Choose one of the above critters that interests you the most. Go to the resource page to find different sites to use to find your information. You will be designing your own creative fact sheet about this critter. 

3. Find a picture of  your critter to include on your fact sheet.  You may print out your picture on the colored printer.

4. On a white piece of composition paper, find the answers to the following questions to include on your fact sheet.

Describe what your critter looks like.

Describe your critter's habitat (the place it lives )?

Is your critter dangersous? If so, tell why.

What does your critter eat?

Include at least 3 interesting facts you found out about your critter.

4.  Bring your information to class.  The final copy will be created on poster paper with markers . . .

5.  Optional:  You may type your information and print it out to place on your fact sheet.
