Senior High Concert Choir-Open to any student in grades 9-12 who expressed a desire to study serious choral singing and displays basic pitch matching and a beginning understanding of the fundamentals of music. Students will study the music for theoretical, historical and performance practice understanding. Also incorporated in the curriculum is solfeggio, rhythmic dictation and intervallic awareness. Indian Valley Ensemble-Members are chosen by process of audition. Students must sing a prepared piece of choral music, sight read and have the ability to blend in a small a cappella vocal ensemble. This group requires a significant time commitment and dedication to working outside the classroom
Advanced Music Concepts-This course is designed for the student who is pursuing a career in Music at the collegiate level or expressed a strong desire to enhance their music knowledge. Emphasis will be placed on keyboard knowledge, advanced rhythmic and interval awareness, Music Theory and History.
District Chorus 2008-Students are currently preparing to participate in PMEA District 4 Chorus at McConnellsburg High School from February 6-9, 2008. The festival will be conducted by Ms. Nichole Adlrich from University of Maryland, where she is pursuing her doctorate. This group of students rehearses together one day a week after school and each student has one individual lesson per six-day cycle.
Regional Chorus 2008-Students advancing to PMEA Region III Chorus, which will be held at Central Cambria H.S. from March 26-29.
