Social Studies Learning Goals

Hands Around the World

 

Grades K-2

Students will develop an awareness of their surroundings and the Social Studies skills necessary to become good citizens and lifelong learners.

 

Grades 3-5

Students will develop Social Studies skills necessary to become good citizens and lifelong learners.

 

Grades 6-8

Students will become lifelong learners, confident of skills obtained in Social Studies.  They will understand their heritage and have an appreciation of other cultures and will become contributing members of society.

 

Grades 9-12

Students will gain understanding of the disciplines within social studies by linking the past, present, and future, and will develop the skills that promote participation as responsible, informed citizens and lifelong learners.
